Ashoka tree is one of the sacred and legendary trees of India. It is an evergreen tree with fragrant  flowers. It is becoming rarer in its natural habitat. The literal meaning of the word ‘Ashoka’ is ‘sorrowless’. This tree is revered by Buddhists, Hindus and Jains. Each part of the Ashoka tree carries Ayurvedic medicinal properties which are used for curing diabetes, insect bites, blood purification, etc.
Pine tree symbolizes  creativity,  life and steadfastness. It has almost 115 species. It is also called ‘Fir’. Pine trees are commercially grown and harvested for Christmas and carpentry item. Its woody outer bark is edible and very high in vitamin A and C. The largest pinecone in the world is – The Court of the Pine Cone, at the Vatican.
Chinar tree is majestic. It is the finest tree known for its longevity and crown like leaves. Chinars usually grow in riverine areas and give heavy, hard, tough and coarse  grain wood. They are used for handicraft such as paper machete, wood carving, embroidery, etc.The Chinar tree is also known as ‘The tree of Hippocrates’ (Father of Medicine). It is considered as National Property in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. Felling of Chinar trees is prohibited there.
Oak tree is a symbol of strength and endurance. It has almost 600 species. The wood of Oak trees is of high density, great strength and hardness, with usage ranging
from cork making to ship building. It is a national tree of many countries, including England, France, Germany, Serbia, and Poland. It also serves as a military symbol for
many armed forces around the globe.
