Rules Regarding Use of Unfair Means in Exams at The Blossoms School

Rules Regarding Use of Unfair Means by Students in Class Tests/Evaluations/ Assessments/Periodic Tests/Examinations etc. Conducted by The Blossoms School, Muzzammil Manzil, Civil Lines, Aligarh.

One of the many things about which The Blossoms School has been consistently proud is that our children do not resort to unfair means in any test or exam. In the two decades of our existence, we can count – on the fingers of one hand – the number of times a student has been found using unfair means in any test or exam, no matter how small or big. This strong moral fiber is one of the elements which makes a Blossoms student stand out.

In the present remote teaching-learning scenario, all the tests and exams are being conducted online.  It is, therefore, very painful for us to narrate that many students are resorting to unfair means in the online evaluations, assessments, tests and examinations. This was sadly in evidence even in the E1 and PT1 assessments.

To put a stop to this unhealthy trend it has been decided to frame the following rules.

The Rules:

  1. Title: Rules Regarding Use of Unfair Means by Students in Class Tests/Evaluations/ Assessments/Periodic Tests/Examinations etc.
  2. For the purposes of these rules, “unfair means” will include:
    • Plagiarism
    • Impersonation
    • Conversation with classmates or anyone else
    • Referring to learning sources like websites, class notes, Learning Content, self-made notes, books, etc.
    • Distracting other attendees during the examination
    • Any other means and methods of writing the exam etc. which in the opinion of the examiners is considered to be unfair.
  3. The following disciplinary action will be initiated if a student found using unfair means as defined above in any Class Tests/Evaluations/Assessments/Periodic Tests/Examinations etc.:

 a. for the first offence:

  • (i) not be given any mark for the portion/portions in which she/he has used unfair means.
  • (ii) 50% of the marks secured by her/him in the rest of the paper will be deducted from her/his final score
[Explanation: This will apply irrespective of the quantum of marks for which unfair means were resorted to. In other words, the use of unfair means for one mark or more will result in a deduction of 50% marks from the overall score in that paper].

b. for the second offence:

  • (i) be given zero marks in that test or assessment.

c. for the third and subsequent offences:

  • (i) will, in addition to deduction of marks as detailed in Rule 3, sub-rule b (i) above, be issued a Blue Card and then for each such subsequent offence the next higher disciplinary card ending with the Black Card.

      4. These Rules, along with such modifications therein, as may be made from time to time, will remain in operation for all times to come.

These rules will come into effect from Friday, September 25, 2020.

Dear Parents,
We hope you and your family are safe and bonded together in this time of pandemic. The entire world is facing a financial crisis due to COVID 19.
Online classes of our students are going fruitfully due to the hard work of all our educators. As you know, like all others, School staff is dependant on their salaries in order to maintain their personal well being and the source to pay their salaries is the school fees that you deposit against the teaching they provide to your ward.
Parents, School fees has not been revised this year and has been kept same as that in the previous academic year 2019-20.
As per government order, we have converted our fees from quarterly to monthly basis for the first quarter to begin with.
Kindly deposit the monthly composite fee of your ward using the school’s online payment portal (
No transport fee is payable till the school opens on campus.
The contents of this letter are not applicable to new admissions who have already paid the fee. Excess fee if any paid by them as per the new fee structure will be adjusted in the fee payments of subsequent months.
This letter is a request and not a compulsion.

With warm and best regards,

Yours sincerely,
Saman Sherwani
The Blossoms School.

Day-2 on the Nexus Academic Year (2020-21)
April 3, 2020.
SUBJECT: Start of Academic Year 2020-21.
Dear Parents,
This is to inform you that the Academic Year 2020-21 of The Blossoms School has officially begun today via eLearning Nexus. The child’s presence in this virtual school is as mandatory as it is in an on-premises school. The attendance recorded in the virtual classes, the class performance and participation, performance in online collaborative project work, if any, assigned and learning outcomes as measured by online tests and assessments will all count towards the final result of the students.

Leaving all of the above aside the online learning platform is a new, exciting and futuristic twenty-first century medium of learning. We want every child of Blossoms to be a part of it.

I, therefore, earnestly beseech you to ensure that your child begins attending the eLearning Nexus classes from tomorrow itself, In sha Allah.
If you do not have an O365 ID and password you may ask for it on either of the Helpline numbers given in the Letter to Parents on March 25, 2020. We will provide it promptly.

We look forward to having your child on board by tomorrow.

With warm and best regards,

Yours sincerely
Saman Sherwani
The Blossoms School.

Welcome Aboard Blossoms eLearning Nexus!
Dear Parents,

I write to you today with humility but also with a lot of pride and happiness.

Wednesday, April 1, 2020 – when we launch Blossoms eLearning Nexus – will mark the beginning of an exciting new voyage for all stakeholders of The Blossoms School. We would never have reached this far without the unstinted backing and encouragement, over the past two decades, of our past and present parent community. So you have every reason to feel happy and proud too. On behalf of the Trustees, the School Managing Committee, the school’s teaching and non-teaching staff and also on my own behalf I congratulate you for being a part of the Blossoms fraternity on this momentous day.

I would take this opportunity to say that what we are getting into is uncharted territory for all of us. As with anything new we will begin with baby steps. We want our children and our educators to learn the ropes happily and that the process of learning-teaching is creative and collaborative, engaging and enjoyable, fulfilling and fun.
Since eLearning is by definition technology-driven we anticipate that in the beginning there will be glitches and goof-ups, bottlenecks and botch ups, confusion and consternation!! During this phase, we will have to be calm, restrained and extremely patient with one another.
As ever, we seek your unflinching support, in working together in the interest of our children, to make this new initiative a grand success.

We will be working mainly through Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Forms. We will be sending some basic tutorials on these two apps to you via WhatsApp tomorrow morning, In sha Allah.

As Principal of The Blossoms School it is my proud privilege to say to our children and you, “Welcome aboard!” on this eLearning voyage.

With warm and best regards.

Yours sincerely,
Saman Sherwani
